The purpose of the Higher Occupational Certificate: Conference and Events Organiser is to prepare students to provide creative assistance and coordination of professional, feasible and innovative events. It is designed to equip students to demonstrate knowledge of the event industry and put the knowledge they have acquired into practice in coordinating and executing small, medium and micro events to a level of professionalism expected on international standards.

Our comprehensive programme and specialised sport elective: Sport Event Management is tailored to prepare students to function effectively in the sport and fitness events industry, by empowering them:

• To demonstrate an understanding of entrepreneurship in relation to sport event management
• To communicate effectively using appropriate methods to maintain effective customer relationships according to organisational standards
• To apply basic knowledge of relevant legislative, governance, policies and procedures pertaining to the event industry in South Africa
• To plan, negotiate, organise, coordinate and control internal tasks and responsibilities of a specific event
• To apply basic project management principles and practices to manage an event

This occupational qualification provides a formalisation for a growing entrepreneurial career opportunity in the fitness and exercise industry and includes the following two part qualifications:
