Course Description

This course, offered in cooperation with the American Academy of Health and Fitness provides scientifically based nutrition guidelines for a wide range of physically active clients – including vegetarians, pregnant and menopausal women, children and adolescents, older adults, people with diabetes, those with eating disorders and participants in weight-restricted sports.

This programme is ideal for athletic trainers, physical therapists, personal trainers and other health and fitness professionals.

It allows them to guide clients in proper eating for optimal exercise performance, and it recognises when a client needs to be referred to a registered dietitian.

Shortly after registration with HFPA for a course from the American Academy of Health and Fitness (AAHF) you will receive an email from AAHF notifying you of a new account established for you on the AAHF website. You should follow the instructions in the email and log into that account to find your course materials and online test information. You should also expect other emails from AAHF.

*Note: This course lays the foundation for useful advice, but does not allow you to prescribe diet plans or practice as a dietician.
