We are living in crazy times. In fact, you’d be forgiven for thinking that you have stumbled onto the set of a Hollywood movie! It all feels rather unreal and difficult to take in; especially given how fast it’s happened in South Africa. One moment it was a story we were hearing about that was only happening to OTHER countries, and then, all of a sudden we were all gearing up for our own lockdown. The reality of it is both frightening and overwhelming for all of us.

The queues in the shops stretch for miles as people try frantically to stock up their pantries in preparation, and, in a lot of shops, the shelves are almost completely empty. The fear and the panic is real and the toilet paper is non-existent!

What are you planning on doing for the duration of your lockdown? Whether you are working remotely, or have taken leave, or simply can’t work at all,  we are all probably going to have a lot more time on our hands for the things that we never seemed to find time for, before; like exercise, for example.

But how is that possible when we can’t get to a gym? Well, if we’re going to be completely honest with ourselves, most of us never found time to get to a gym BEFORE lockdown, right? Life was always too busy. So what makes this situation any better, you might ask?

Well, you don’t need to drive anywhere, which saves you loads of time. You don’t need to shoot to the shops or go to a meeting. You aren’t sitting in rush hour traffic twice a day and you aren’t fetching your kids from school. If you live in Gauteng, most of our day is spent in traffic. Think of all that time you’re saving!

To make it even easier for you, we are gathering up a bunch of home workouts, put together by qualified personal trainers, to help you exercise no matter what space is available, no matter what equipment you do, or don’t have, and no matter how many kids you are trying to keep busy while working remotely.

We will keep adding to this post as we receive more videos. Please visit the trainers’ pages. Feel free to follow them and engage with them and, most importantly, share their posts. This is a time when we all need to help each other out, even if it’s just in small ways. Every little bit helps.

Oh, and while you’re at it… do the exercises!
