The National Diploma in Fitness – Sports Conditioning Coach follows on from the Certificate in Fitness and covers the advanced facets of personal training (including an overview of injury prevention and special considerations), enabling you to provide all-inclusive training services to the general population, people with disabilities and special populations including pregnant women, children, youth and older adults.

The Full Time weekday programme is offered with 3 elective tracks that will assist in multiskilling you as a fitness professional.
The Diploma in Fitness – Sports Conditioning Coach further develops your skills and your scope of practice. Provide all-inclusive training services to sports people and elite athletes, as well as the general population and special population groups.
Work as a Sports Conditioning Coach and Personal Trainer in a health club, private studio or sports and recreation centre.
Open your own Fitness Centre, wellness consultancy or travelling services to homes, schools and corporations.
Be your own boss, provide your service to private clients, groups of clients or offer your sports conditioning services to school, club or professional sports teams.
Work internationally in health clubs and recreation facilities. Travel the world while you work on-board international cruise liners or for international holiday clubs. Many of our HFPA graduates are employed internationally and respected as knowledgeable fitness professionals.

Study Mode Options Include: Full- Time, Part Time, Distance Learning and Online.
All students have access to the HFPA Online Learning Platform which provides support, videos, lectures, quizzes, presentations and much more.
All students are allocated to an online tutor who will assist with all aspects of the course.
Full Time programme
Offered over an academic year this weekday workshop based programme is offered from our campuses. This is a “value added” programme which aims to multi-skill the students. Students choose 3 electives which are included in the course fee. The elective programmes expand your scope of practice and therefore your earning potential.
Part Time programme
Structured Workshops are offered on alternate Saturday mornings over a 6 month period. We commence this programme twice annually in February and July. This programme is offered nationally.
This is a blended learning programme which provides for flexible study that combines online home study with quarterly workshops. The workshops are offered nationally, over a full weekend, 4 times during the year. Students will attend a weekend workshop at a time that is conducive to their progress.

With the assistance of the HFPA Online Learning Platform, students are given all of the tools to successfully complete their course entirely online. Students can also elect at any time to attend workshops at a small additional fee.

Do I need any previous qualifications to enroll in this course? (Entry requirements)
To be accepted into certain courses you may be required to hold a prior qualification (prerequisite) or have specific skills or experience. This is important to ensure that you can learn at a certain academic level and are comfortable and confident with the course work presented.
In order to enroll in the National Diploma in Fitness: Sports Conditioning Coach course you should hold a recognised and relevant NQF 4 qualification (matric or equivelant). Alternatively, should you not meet this requirement, you can consider the below options:
Complete our Fitness Instructor course that will provide you with an NQF 4 qualification and allow you access into the Personal Trainer course.
Follow a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process to ascertain if you can enter the course with a reasonable chance of success.
Apply for mature age exemption through Higher Education South Africa (HESA) if you are over 23 years of age.
