This course outlines the fundamental differences between training children and adults. It explores the anatomical and physiological differences, covers fundamental movement skills and stresses the importance of physical activity to ensure proper development of body and mind. You will learn how to assess children using the gross motor development (TGMD-2) testing battery as well as training guidelines based on individual age groups from toddlers to adolescents.

How is this course delivered? (Study mode & duration)
This is an attended 2-day short course that runs over one weekend. You will undergo practical and theoretical assessments while on the course and will be required to complete a practical exam. You will receive a printed manual with lesson plans and games and can access additional resources via our oline learning platform (OLP).

Do I need any previous qualifications to enroll in this course? (Entry requirements)
It is essential to have some prior exercise science knowledge to complete this course. Therefore, in order to enroll, you must hold at least an accredited Personal Training/Exercise Science/Fitness qualification on an NQF Level 5.
How will I be recognised upon completion of this course? (Accreditation & certification)
Upon completion of this course you will be awarded 8 REPS CPD points and will receive an HFPA certificate of achievement.
